Led by Mark Roberts, our Director of Choral Activities and a Campolindo alumnus who returned to Campo in 2011 to head the department, Campolindo Choir serves approximately 250-300 students each year, presenting Fall, Winter, Pops, and Spring concerts, as well as an annual Broadway musical production, with touring opportunities for upper-level ensembles. Mr. Roberts holds a Master's degree in Choral Conducting from the University of Tennessee and bachelor's degrees in Choral Conducting and Vocal Music Education from Chapman University.

Campo Choir Site Redesign (1).png
Treble/Bass Chorale

Chorales are open to all new singers at Campolindo regardless of experience or background.  Here, all students will learn the basics of vocal production, different styles of choral music, and rehearsal and performance practices. Music theory will be emphasized including study of sight-singing, notation, phrasing, rhythm, harmony, and musical terminology.

Students in these classes must attend all dress rehearsals, and concerts as indicated by the calendar.  All performances are required.  Rehearsal expectations and conduct, attendance, and knowledge of music will all be factored in participation and grading.

Treble/Bass Ensemble
Beginning-to-intermediate ensembles that build musicianship beyond Chorale, including music fundamentals, vocal technique, sight-reading, and historical/cultural context. Repertoire typically includes 2-, 3-, and 4-part choral literature across historic periods and cultures.
Concert Choir
An intermediate mixed-voice choir that deepens mastery of music fundamentals, vocal technique, sight-reading, and historical/cultural perspectives. Repertoire emphasizes 4-part mixed-voice literature across a variety of genres. Prior experience in another Campo choir is required (or other high school choir if transferring in).
Bel Canto
Bel Canto is an advanced treble ensemble that emphasizes expressive singing, musical artistry, and refined musicianship. Students develop strong skills in music theory, sight-reading, and appropriate performance practice while studying and performing advanced choral literature. The ensemble offers frequent performance opportunities both on campus and in the community. Membership is by audition and requires concurrent enrollment in another choir. Singers are expected to take on leadership and administrative responsibilities within the ensemble.
Chamber Singers
Chamber Singers is an advanced mixed-voice choir focused on precision, balance, and high-level ensemble technique. Experienced singers strengthen their musicianship through rigorous work in music theory, sight-reading, and performance practice while performing advanced choral repertoire. The choir performs regularly in school and community settings. Enrollment is by audition and requires concurrent participation in another choir, with students typically assuming leadership and administrative roles.
